Description: American Rococo Revival carved walnut sofa, circa 1860-1875. The serpentine triple-arched back is centered and flanked by carved foliate crests incorporating raised oval cabochons. A molded exposed frame follows the deeply tufted back, descending into padded arms with carved handholds. The serpentine seat rail is centered by conforming cabochon and foliate carving and raised on shaped cabriole legs. Upholstered in later gold damask fabric with button tufting.

Walnut frame appears refinished and exhibits scattered scratches, abrasions, minor edge wear, finish variation, and small imperfections to the carving. Gold upholstery is later and has scattered wrinkles, minor pulls, surface wear, and possible light staining. Rear frame, underside, upholstery foundations, and internal joinery have not been photographed, limiting assessment of repairs or structural movement. Please examine all photographs.
