An exceptional piece of Civil War home front history, this original 1863 printed broadside advertises Goodwin & Woodward’s "Polyorama of the War!" held at Hotchkiss Hall in Waterbury, CT. Printed on paper and dated November 9–11, 1863, the detailed broadside features bold typography and woodcut illustrations detailing moving diorama scenes of major battles, including Fort Sumter, Vicksburg, Gettysburg, and Hampton Roads, flanked by portraits of prominent figures like Abraham Lincoln. Professionally matted and framed under glass in a dark molded wood frame with a gilded inner lip. The piece exhibits expected aging, light toning, and minor scattered staining throughout, with horizontal fold creases visible, but displays no major paper loss or significant tears detrimental to the graphic content.
