A group of three oriental-style figurines carved from an ivory-colored material, likely animal bone. The lot consists of two standing figures and one kneeling figure. The two standing figures are depicted as elder sages or deities; one holds a long staff while the other carries a scrolled document. Both are dressed in traditional layered robes and are mounted on integral, carved rock-work style bases. The third and smallest figure is a netsuke carved as a musician in a kneeling position, holding a lute-like instrument and a set of clappers. The robes of the musician are decorated with incised linear patterns and geometric motifs highlighted with a dark pigment. No maker's marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on any of the figures.
