Presenting an original mid-century oil on canvas portrait by renowned San Francisco bohemian street artist John Peers (19222009). Famous for his expressive, textured portraits sold throughout the Bay Area in the 1960s and 70s, Peers beautifully captures the classic Emmett Kelly-style hobo clown.

This striking piece features rich textures, vivid coloration, and a masterfully painted, soulful expression. The painting comes housed in its original, substantial period-correct wood frame with a classic textured linen liner, which has been gently cleaned and looks magnificent. Note: True vintage condition. Canvas is tight, vibrant, and securely mounted; a tiny, minor surface frame rub mark is present near the collar as shown in the macro photos, adding to its authentic vintage character.
