Description
1411. Baby Stegosaurus from the Jurassic Park touring science exhibition. (Universal, 1993) A Stegosaur mother and this baby appeared in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Stegosaurs were the largest of all plate-backed dinosaurs at nearly 30 feet long. It is one of the few Jurassic Park series dinosaurs that actually lived in the Jurassic Period 145 million years ago. There are no substantial fossil remains known for juvenile Stegosaurs, so it’s not known if they even had plates, but the Stan Winston Studio sculptors based the chubby, wide-eyed, small-plated Stegosaur on evolutionary theory about cuteness – that young animals tend to have larger eyes and rounder features than adults which inspire care-taking from parents. However, there is no evidence yet of these features in young dinosaurs. Constructed of foam latex hand-painted to incredible life-like detail over metal armature. Measures 90 in. long x 49 in. tall. Special shipping arrangements will apply.
