1712. Sammy Davis Jr.’s custom personal golf clubs. (ca. 1970s-1980s) Sammy Davis Jr.’s personal golf club set. Consisting of (10) custom Ping irons including 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9, a sand wedge and putter. All clubs are engraved with “Sammy Davis Jr.” on the stem of each head, (1) Ping putter with “Sammy Davis Jr. 30th GHO 1981” on the back of the club head and plush black sock, (4) wood drivers including 1, 3, 4 and 5 with all but the 5 engraved with “Sammy Davis Jr.” on the stem of each head. The 5 and 4 come with plush black socks. The clubs come in a Tony Jacklin brand championship brown leather bag with handles, shoulder strap and professionally hand-lettered, “Sammy Davis Jr.” in white paint on the front. Zippered pockets contain Davis’ scoring pencil, a sleeve of 3-Top-Flite golf balls, in box, a Zippo brand “Greenskeeper” tool, in box and 2-golf tees imprinted, “To My Pro D. I. Rennfit”. The set of clubs and bag are contained in a 50 x 22 in. rubberized, zippered canvas transport bag with “Sammy Davis Jr. Greater Hartford Open Pro-Am 1974” imprinted on the front of the bag over the graphic of a golf ball.
