The present lithograph was made by the American artist James Rizzi and reveals a colorful motif carried out in Rizzi’s typical, comic-like style. It depicts the silhouette of a modern metropolis with numerous skyscrapers and, according to the title ’LOOK - THERE ARE COWS IN THE CITY’, two cows in the center. The motif captivates through its three-dimensional construction that renders the motif the illusion of depth.
The work is signed and numbered with pencil lower left ‘RIZZI 218/350‘. It is titled in the print lower center ‘LOOK – THERE ARE COWS IN THE CITY’ and dated in the print lower right ‘2000’. The work is in very good condition. The image size is 33 x 44.5 cm and the sheet measures 45.5 x 56 cm.
James Rizzi (1950-2011)
Born in New York in 1950, James Rizzi studied art at the University of Florida in Gainesville, between 1969 and 1974. Already shortly after he finished his studies, Rizzi’s works were already very sought-after by gallery owners as well as private collectors. The artist also created a number of works in public space, including the Happy RIZZI House in Brunswig on the occasion of the Expo 2000. (cbo)
