F-075 Interesting grouping of U.S. uniforms and other items from Gunnery Sergeant Ralph J. Terwilleger, USMC attached to the 1st Aero Squadron. Lot includes: (1) Four-pocket OD tunic. With original Sergeant chevrons with a flaming grenade and crossed rifles. Gold chevron on left cuff. Eagle/anchor buttons. Sleeve lining stamped "...US Marine Corps 1917-1918...". (2) OD overcoat with matching Sergeant stripes and gold chevron. Button as above. Sleeve lining also stamped. Mothing on collar and front. (3) Summer OD cotton blouse with Marine Corps buttons. Lining stamped "Terwilleger". With tan breeches. Shows some wear. (4) Canvas ditty bag - named to above. Also a pair of "1918" dated tan puttees. (5) British style, U.S. OD o'seas cap/ Eagle/anchor buttons and a large period EGA badge on side. Mothing. (6) Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal - "No 32402", Victory Medal (with "OVERSEAS" bar) and a NYS WWI Service Medal - numbered "22356". (7) Pair of "dog tags" marked "RALPH J. TERWILLEGER - 8.10.17 - USMC", pin back USMC collar disc, "USMC" barracks bag padlock and key and eight various USMC buttons. Five souvenir German uniform buttons and a 10th Grenadier shoulder board. (8) Period portrait photo of Terwilleger, 3 Xerox pages from a 1924 publication of "MILITARY ROLLS" and miscellaneous papers. II-
