French Provincial Louis XV Style Carved Cherry Tall Case Calendar Clock, 19th c., the arched stepped cookie corner crown over an enamel dial within a brass repousse face decorated with fruit, flowers and birds, over a shaped glazed pendulum door, containing a polychromed brass repousse pendulum, over a lower panel, on reeded cabriole legs, H.- 90 in., W.- 26 in., D.- 14 in.
Condition consistent with age and use. Whitish residue in crevices of clock and pendulum. Traces of paint decoration on raised areas. Edges of clock bent slightly. Lower part of pendulum bent slightly to the left. Rippling veneer above the top door and in the center of the bottom door. An approximate 8 inch vertical crack in the bottom right side. Slight gaps throughout joints in doors and bottom panel. Largest gap approximately ¼ inch in the bottom of the lower door. Horizontal crack across the top of the glass in the bottom door. Knobs slightly loose. An approximate 6 inch vertical crack in the top of the door. A 12 inch black streak on the right side. A classic piece.
