US Civil war officer's double breasted frock coat with 14 VT buttons on chest, 3 non functional at each wrist and four in the back and one captain's strap. Coat is in excellent shape but does have some minor moth holes, and tears to lining. Jacket is in standard dark blue wool with collar of the same, dark green quilted lining with white sleeves, measures 15" from underarm to underarm and 37" from collar to tails. Wounded at Gettysburg, Wounded and taken prisoner at Brandy Station 10/11/63, Major 11/18/64 escaped 2/16/65 from Charlotte NC and walked to Union lines at Knoxville TN. This coat was purchased in Windsor VT from the Adams family Cousins of the Major.
