ALL-ORIGINAL GEBRUDER HEUBACH “WHISTLING JIM” BISQUE CHARACTER BOY. Marks: 4 Heubach in square, Germany. 15”. Bisque swivel head with flange neck, molded and painted blonde hair, painted features, intaglio blue side-glancing eyes, upper eyeliner, tapered brows, shaded lips which are nearly closed with tiny “whistling” hole in center, muslin body with bellows in torso, composition hands, original blue striped cotton suit, black and white leather/cloth shoes. Commentary: Fine example of the flirtatious character doll marketed as “Whistling Jim” in 1910, all-original, fine quality bisque, bellows non-working.
