Description
Unusual group of ceremonial neck sashes and stoles accomplished variously in either velvet or silk with decorative trim. Organizations include Sons of Temperance, The Order of Good Templars, and Independent Order of Rechabites / Salford Unity. Features an1849 Sons of Temperance red velvet neck sash accompanied by original card stock box with date and inscription. Bears a badge with silk cockade inscribed on verso "Edwd. F. Wilson / of / Burlington Division / No. 2 / Sons of Temperance." Some duplication through the lot. Accompanied a few ephemera items including a 1906 mounted 6" x 8" group photograph of Good Templar members wearing regalia. Verso of photo mount bears Butterknowle photographer Thomas Peairs' handstamp.
