A pair of Egyptian New Kingdom faience scarabs, c. 1570 - 1075 BC. The first with twisted cord on base. 10 X 7 mm. Nice for size. Cf. Matouk II 2075 var; Ex collection Albert F. Pagnon, Luxor, acquired in the 1860's. The second with hieroglyphic characters on the base, the top lightly domed. Pierced for suspension. 12 x 9 mm. Ex Royal Athena Galleries, New York.
