BOOKS: (7) Vols WWII Oversize Scrapbooks 1940-1946, 7 scrapbook volumes: France and World War II. 1940-1946. Hardcovers with brass rivet fasteners. 14 x 17 inches. Stamped with Roman numbers I-VII on front. Each with hand-lettered title page. Approximately 25-30 pages per volume, with articles glued to front and back of each page. Contains English-language newspaper and magazine articles relating primarily to what was happening in France during the period.

Provenance: Estate of Huguette Clark

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
