This is a Native American Indian drilled greenstone spud from 800-1600CE. The spud was made during the Mississippian Period, a time of advancement for Native American cultures. During this time, agriculture became an integral part of societies. This spud shows a flat form with tapered edges and a hole drilled in the center. The piece has an original inventory tag from the private collection where it previously resided. The piece shows good overall condition. It measures 4.75" x 5.75".
