This lot features an antique Weymann Keystone banjo mandolin that was part of the Georgia Tech Glee Club in the 1920's. The banjo head is hand painted with a Spanish Maja playing a guitar. All original paint. Head has a small tear in the lower register near the rim. The reverse of the banjo features, what we believe to be facsimile signatures of Silent Movie-era and "Golden-Age"-era film stars. Names include: Tom Mix, Gloria Swanson, Betty Bronson and Homer Bowder. There seem to be other signatures that have faded with time. While we are unsure as to the authenticity of the signatures on this piece, it is possible that one or more could be authentic and having the piece graded and authenticated may prove to be fruitful. Measures 23" long. This piece comes from a gentleman's estate in East Tennessee. See Photos for Details. Shipping Available.
