ALL: cal. 6.5 Jap. 1) NAGOYA ARSENAL TYPE 38. S# 99224. Bbl. 19". Receiver marked on left rail w/ Nagoya Arsenal marking. Marked on top w/ intact mum, has Japanese characters for Type 38. Numbers match on receiver, bolt & bayonet lug. Ladder rear sight graduate to 2000m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band has bayonet lug. Side swivels. Cup type buttplate. Straight bolt handle. Notched checkered safety knob. Unmarked hardwood stock set w/ 2 piece buttstock. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 15 3/4" fullered blade bayonet w/ curved quillon. Bayonet marked on right ricasso w/ interlocking circles indicating mfg. at Kokura arsenal. Also marked w/ "M" obscured by sm. dents. Flat wooden grips. Steel scabbard. Bayonet has overall gray & patina w/ wear & heavy pitting on blade. Scabbard has wear, dents & scratches throughout w/ patina. CONDITION: stock set has cleaned appearance w/ wear, dents & staining throughout. Metal has traces of blue turning gray & patina w/ wear & scratches. Upper & lower bands, buttplate & swivels have added black finish. Fair bore turning dark w/ appearance of wear. (17-3262/RW). 2) TOKYO ARSENAL KOSHIKAWA TYPE 38. S# 4964. Bbl. 18 3/4". Receiver marked on left side w/ Koshikawa Arsenal interlocking circle. Mum has been ground. Retains Type 38 character markings. Numbers match on receiver & bolt. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,000m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band has bayonet lug. Lower band has side swivel. Side swivel on butt. Hardwood stock set, buttstock has 2 piece construction. Straight handle bolt. Sm. tang safety knob. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 15 5/8" fullered blade bayonet. crossguard has curved quillon smooth grips. Bayonet marked on right ricasso w/ interlocking circles & additional unknown marking. Steel scabbard. Bayonet has bright blade. Crossguard, pommel & scabbard have blued finish turning mostly gray & patina w/ wear, dents & scratches. Grips showing staining, wear & scratches. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, dents, staining & scratches throughout. 2 Piece stock seam has notably open appearance. Metal retains 50% blue w/ thinning wear turning gray patina & scattered light oxidation. Fair worn bore. (17-3263/RW). BOTH CURIO. $600-900 for lot.
