Egypt, New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty, rule of Rameses II, ca. 1279 to 1212 BCE. A miniature carved stone bust pendant of the pharaoh Rameses II (also spelled Ramesses and Ramses). He has gentle almond-shaped eyes, thin lips, a false beard, broad ears, and a tripartite wig with accompanying uraeus. The verso is slightly concave, with laterally-drilled perforations through the top of the head for suspension. Size: 0.875" H (2.2 cm).
