UNION SOLDIER’S CIVIL WAR ERA CEREMONIAL COAT AND KEPI, wool coat and kepi worn by one Mr. Quinn, father to William Bollin; according to family notes "It is a new uniform to replace an earlier one worn by donor’s father, Mr. Quinn, who was a soldier in the northern army before coming South.", measuring approximately 36" chest. Together with two mismatched riding boots, measuring approximately 13 3/8" HOA and 17" HOA. Four pieces total. Circa 1900. Sizes as described.
Coat in excellent condition, kepi in very good condition, boots in very good condition with replaced soles and heels.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA), to benefit the collections and acquisitions funds.
