This is a German theatrical sword. Produced by Hugo Baruch who was the premier manufacturer of theatrical items in Berlin, Germany during the 1920's and 1930's. His company was in business until Hitler closed it down because Hugo was of Jewish heritage. The sword has a solid brass cast hilt 22 1/2" blunted blade. The markings "Hugo Baruch & Cie Commandit Gesellschaft Berlin C" are stamped to one side. The are numerous edge nicks on the edges. The original scabbard is brass bound wood. It shows wear and is missing some adornments. Very Good
