This is a three-dimensional paper construction mounted onto a double-page photolithograph; when the folded sheet is opened the construction pops up. Created by Andy Warhol and published in 1967 by Black Star for Andy Warhol's Index Book, an absurd and revolutionary volume designed as "a children’s book for hipsters". Size: 10 3/4 x 16 x 4 inches (275 x 400 x 105 mm). Not signed.
A classic work of Pop Art from Warhol's Factory period, at the height of the New York psychedelic scene. The photos show two different views (photographed against a white background).
Condition: there is soiling to the left section of the support sheet near the edge; the pop-up paper can is in good condition and fully functioning.
