Roman & Romano-Egyptian, ca. 1st century CE. A beautiful necklace composed of ancient millefiori glass beads, each white with a colorful inclusion, mainly blue but some green, red, and yellow; also a single yellow paste glass bead. At the center of the necklace is a Romano-Egyptian faience amulet in the form of a seated baboon. On a modern stringing with modern gold-plated beads interspersed. Length of strand: 27" L (68.6 cm); faience amulet: 0.4" W (1 cm)
