Notes/Literature: Difficult Run is a triburary of the Potomac River in Northern Virginia; Washington mentions it and Captain Wiley in letters regarding the difficulty he had in surveying and establishing the boundaries of Mount Vernon (see founders.archives.gov/washington/06-04-02-0354)
