A late Victorian silver and gold, diamond and emerald brooch. Designed as a vari-cut diamond frog, with circular-shape emerald collet eyes. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.35cts, estimated I-K colour, SI2-P2 clarity. Length 2.5cms. Total weight 6.2gms. With Carrington & Co. Ltd case.


  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Significant proportion of replacement gems.
  • Alterations to the eye mounts.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Diamonds appear slightly varied in colour.
  • Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds with some nicks and abrasions. Generally with moderate to fairly significant inclusions.
  • Emeralds are a well matched medium blueish green hue, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical surface reaching inclusions and small associated cavities.

  • Emeralds in good condition with minor abrasions.
