"Luke The Drifter" Custom Boutique Guitar Made from Wood From Hank Williams 1st Home Built by Glen Morgan Guitars W/COA (1 of 3) - This stunning boutique guitar was made by legendary guitar builder Glen Morgan Guitars, and was partially crafted using wood taken from Hank Williams first purchased home which was also the home that Hank Williams Jr. was brought home to as a baby. The home was located at 852 Modica St. in Bossier City, Louisiana, and was destined to be torn down, and so music historian and Music Row veteran Stephen Shutts personally systematically dismantled the home in the Fall of 2017 to preserve it from the city wrecking ball. Various wood components from the home were preserved by Shutts and later sold to Glen Morgan Guitars for use in his custom guitar builds. The guitar is a dreadnaught style guitar crafted of solid wood, with back and sides made of ribbon mahogany and a top made of yellow pine. The three-piece neck is crafted of mahogany and walnut, with ebony fingerboard, bridge and headplate. The guitar also has a nut and saddle crafted of bone, maple wood binding and Grover machine heads. The guitar is hand rubbed to a handsome satin finish to show as much of the natural wood look as possible. This guitar took eight weeks to design and fabricate, and is serial number 001 of only three that were made from the wood from Williams' home. This instrument has wonderful tone providing an ideal instrument for session and/or stage use, while continuing the legacy of Hank Williams. The guitar will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Stephen Shutts and Glen Morgan. It will come housed in a fitted hard case.
