1342. Bandi Communicator from Star Trek: The Next Generation. (Paramount-TV, 1987-94) Bandi Communicator constructed from machined Jelutong wood or RenShape and completely hand-painted with an organic vein pattern, green & black graphics and an acrylic front panel. This Communicator is used by Michael Bell "Groppler Zorn" to contact the U.S.S. Enterprise in the episode, "Encounter at Farpoint." In the episode, the acrylic panel on the top end of the unit illuminated via a button, but unfortunately the prop was built with the battery permanently sealed inside. Built by Independent Studio Services, it measures 1 ¼ in. x 3 in. x 4 ¼ in. A rare First Season prop.
