75005 BB Marbles: Blizzard Mica Onionskin 9.9

Lot 75005 Details

Description
END OF DAY, Onionskin. Shrunken-core floating three-panel blizzard mica onionskin. An exceedingly rare marble. Truly exceptional. Transparent clear base. The core is a candle onionskin core of white with pink skin. The subsurface layer is three panels of blizzard mica. They are all the same size and are equadistantly spaced around the marble. Stunning effect. Faceted pontil. There are other examples of this type known, but to find it in dead Mint condition is incredibly rare. A "dream" marble, you'll be hard-pressed to find another. Germany, circa 1870-1915. 1". Mint (9.8). The marbles in Lots 2 through 6 are all from a single small collection.
