Description
An Egyptian bicolor faience ushabti, 3rd Intermediate Period, Dynasty 21, c. 1075 - 945 BC, depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite wig, arms folded at chest and holding a hoe in each hand. Down the front of the body and legs is a vertical column of hieroglyphic text detailed in black as is the basket held by straps at the center of the back. L: 4 in (10.2 cm). Light deposits. Ex collection of Maj. James Findlay, Scotland, acquired in the 1950's-60's, thence by descent.
