Description

Staurothek Zentralrussland, Altgläubigen-Werkstatt, um 1800 Verbund aus zwei Nadelholz-Brettern mit zwei Stirnseiten-Sponki. Eitempera auf Kreidegrund. Flaches Kowtscheg, Hintergrund vergoldet. In der vertikalen Mittelachse eingelassenes Bronzekreuz mit der reliefierten Darstellung des gekreuzigten Christus. Zu beiden Seiten flankieren das Kreuz links die Gottesmutter sowie Maria Magdalena und Johannes sowie der Hauptmann. Im oberen Bildteil ist links die Kreuzabnahme wiedergegeben während rechts die Grablegung Christi dargestellt ist. Feine, detailreiche Malerei. Reizvolle Rot-Blau-Kontraste der Gewandung. Feine Strukturierung der Gewänder mit Goldfalten. Kleine Retuschen, sonst sehr guter Erhaltungszustand. 43 x 38,5 cm

Flanked by the Mother of God and Mary Magdalene on the left and St. John and Longinus at the right. The upper part shows the Deposition and the Entombment of Christ. The composition in reds, greens and terracotta, the garments highlighted in gold. The figures executed in great detail with elaborate gold ornamentation. Some small spots of restoration, otherwise very good condition. 43 x 38.5 cm.
