They have a feature on their website where you can zoom in on details of a lot. Extremely helpful. Maybe Liveauctioneers could do something similar?

It would be most helpful if detailed descriptions of items including any damage or flaws would be most helpful. An inquiry was answered promptly but the information provided should have been detailed in the description. Shipping was speedy and item securely packaged.

The frame arrived broken, but the painting is not dammed and it is very fine, better actually than described. The only problem is the frame-damaged at the corners. It was not protected properly. The frame corner were NOT protected.

The woman who answered the phone on both occasions I called was wonderful. Far nicer than any auction house person I have spoken with in years. Absolutely will follow their auctions in the future!

Cottone is a class act. I have been a buyer for over 30 years and never had a single issue. They are extremely condition fussy and reject more consignment material than most other auctions are offered. They are the go to auction hose for both buyers and sellers. No reserves are acceped.

Better photographs-and more of them-would have been appreciated. I requested a better explanation of the condition of the item that I wanted to bid on and received minimal information. I won the item but after receiving it I discovered that it was not altogether what I thought I was bidding on. Since I could not visit the auction house itself to inspect the item, I had to rely on the auction house itself to provide adequate information and I felt they failed to do that. I would not have bid on the item if I had been given more information and better, more extensive photographs of the item.

They are prompt and reliable sellers. There are a number of auction houses on live auctioneers that sell fakes when it comes to the artwork and do it knowingly. Cottone is very careful on their descriptions and if they don't know, they say so. Being in this business 30 years I look for this.

The house number given to the shipper was incorrect but the street was correct. Luckily, it was only a few houses up the street and the shipper recognized our name. Aside from that, the experience was very satisfactory.

The package was shipped from Cottone in Geneseo NY to me in the South of France. Unfortunately both my name and the Zipcode were incorrect, resulting in the package being delivered to the wrong address 1000 miles away. All auction houses need to remember the vital importance of correct addressing when shipping, especially overseas.

there was a glitch in the online auction which caused the wrong photo to show-when i thought i was bidding on the item i wanted somehow my bid was placed on the previous item and the auction house was courteous enough to remove my bid. thank you Cottone, in the future i will place my bids via phone rather than risk another tech glitch issue.

I was also impressed by the care the auction house took in packing my item for shipping. It was very well protected from any possibility of damage.
