Very good overall experience. I just found the shipping fees very expensive. I was charged $65 to ship 19 blotters in Canada. Maybe the use of a smaller box would have been more appropriate.

The condition of the model car was better than expected. But it did sustain some minor damage in shipping. Shipping Saint, which is either Mathews in-house or recommended shipper was very helpful with the claims process and got the damage claim resolved very quickly. I will bid with this auction house again.

Not only was the experience great, the shipping was even better. They are responsive and always take care in making sure you receive the item in good shape. It is great to be able to purchase something that you like but it is even better when you receive it in a timely manner. Keep up the good work.

This was not the first Matthews Auction I've participated in and it won't be my last either. The item I won was exactly as described and shipped within a reasonable amount of time. The packing/shipping dept (led by Cyrus) did a phenomenal job! It took me almost 30 minutes to unpack the glass/framed Coke sign that I won. Clearly, they care about their customers and what they show and sell. I highly recommend Matthews Auctions!

Basically a joke because of their hidden fees and inappropriate fees they charge you for shipping. They charged me $4. xx for a shipping box, yet they shipped the item in a flat-rate Priority envelope. Item was (111) years old, but they didn't provide any type of protection around the item other than a small amount of shrink-wrap. Then they charged nearly $28 to ship it, but the max fee I could calculate was $18. xx with full insurance. Auction house should be ashamed for doing this....

Decided to use them for shipping after discussing the care that would be taken to protect the neon tubing. Conversation was VERY specific that some foam or bubble would be utilized to protect the tubing leaving me feel comfortable. ZERO protection was provided and both signs arrived with the tubing significantly broken. The crates were not even labeled FRAGILE! So after spending $10K on signs I'll need to spend a few more grand on repairs. They could have cared less and were rude when notified of their broken promise to pack with care.

I'm happy with the transaction. However, there were 2 very obvious repairs that were neither disclosed nor shown in the photos. Bidding would have been much lower if these were disclosed.

While many auction houses appear to have some sort of side hustle with their “preferred” shipping co’s. Matthews was no nonsense straight forward and reasonable. Would not hesitate to purchase through them again.
