A lack of communication
It took five weeks to get my items

We are very sorry the buyer is unhappy about his post-sale experience. We would have gladly helped to expedite his shipping if he had contacted us. The invoice we send to winning bidders explains how the buyer can arrange shipping. On 1/31, the day after the sale, we responded to the request from the buyer to pay his invoice by credit card and and facilitated payment. We then immediately sent a paid invoice copy on 1/31 for his purchases. As per the Conditions of Sale, the shipping policy outlined in our catalog, and our invoice, Millea Bros. does not pack and ship – the invoice explains how to arrange shipping. Since the buyer made no arrangements, his purchases remained at our gallery until the final pickup date on 2/18. The items were the sent to a third party shipper as per the invoice details. The reason the items took so long to ship was simply that the buyer never made arrangements. At no time did the buyer reach out to us to ask for assistance with shipping or expediting his delivery.

I love this auction house.
Millea Bros. Always has something wonderful to bid on and they are just a lot of fun to bid with. (Nice commentary, pleasantly cynical at times, with a knife edge of subtle humor, to keep you entertained). I love it when I have the time free to bid with them!

Excellent auction house, without in-house shipping.
Excellent auction house. Descriptions are accurate and entire auction process was seamless. However, successful buyer must deal with third party for pickup, packing and shipping. Shipper accepted buyer's FedEx shipping label, thus there was no markup on shipping. Packing was outside control of auction house, and oversize painting frame was damaged in shipping despite earnest effort at good packing. Overall a satisfactory experience and would bid again.

Books are beautiful and their auction is well run
I have purchased books from these people for a while and have always done well. They offer pickup outside Philadelphia which is perfect for me (or in Boonton for you New Yorkers.) Excellent photos and honest people.

Mirror Ruined
Not Millea Bros fault. But upon receiving the mirror it is ruined and beyond repair. Very sad. Be careful how you ship items.

Shipping
While some auctioneers ship others do not. The process of receiving goods in a timely fashion without dealing with multiple parties is problematic. In such a scenario, if anything goes wrong in the shipping process there will be issues with accountability. Customers should know shipping costs going in. Until all auctioneers provide the service of packing and generating shipping labels the expeience of buying this way will be inconsistent and sometimes troubled.
