This is not remotely close to a 19th item. At best a recently made piece that would easily be purchased at any tourist gift shop.

Wonderful addition to the Palm Beach scene for buying without the store overhead. Staff very helpful and friendly, no hesitation in continuing or increasing my bidding here.

Overall, positive experience. Major glitch was that after I wired the payment, the main Chicago office failed to alert its West Palm Beach office that they had received payment. As a result, when my shipping agent went to pick up the item, the West Palm Beach office wouldn't release the item for shipment, resulting in a wasted initial shipping effort. After I called the West Palm Beach office and told them I had wired payment several days prior, they contacted their Chicago office who confirmed (finally) that payment had been received. Everything worked fine from then onwards. Obviously, Hindman is a great auction house, but this glitch caused me a little angst and some lessons learned for future bid purchases.

Living in France, I bid to that auction without knowing anything to auction. People were kind, patient. The whole experience went very great, that to those people!

Good catalogue details but also excellent responses to queries especially for overseas buyers like me Polite and helpful.

Auction house is good, but the shipping was poor, items were pocked loose and damaged and not wrapped to prevent banging together

Have purchased many times from LH, shipping still seems to be the slowest part. Would prefer to pay via CC to make this whole process better. We do buy from many Auction Houses that accept CC payment, a loss to LH.

Took shipper 1 week to pick up and charged an exorbent fee.

The house offered me stellar customer service on the first purchase even though the item was fairly inexpensive. I’ve found over the years that all houses on this site, as well as others, are not equal when it comes to completing a sale within the confines of the time outlined in the terms. As a result, my modus operandi is to dip a toe in the water before I decide if it’s worth going for a long swim.

All was well. Shipping company was local and far cheaper than UPS. So that was good
