If you look at my history you will see that I made many purchases from Dan Morphy Auctions over the years, but seldom bid on items for sale anymore. I've lost my trust in them as an auctioneer. They are representing reproductions as 'age unknown' and claim they will not sell re-creations (when they are approached), but they end up in the auctions anyway. Secondly, I have first-hand knowledge that there were items for sale on eBay and other sites by an employee of their company that were for sale for less than they sold at auction. That makes me very suspicious that they are winning the bid, then re-selling the item. Lastly, I have contacted Dan Morphy, the Principal directly by email and neither he, nor his associates, acknowledge me. Taking everything into consideration I am choosing not to patronize their firm.

Overall I had a superior experience with this auction.

I wish all auction houses were as fast and efficient as this one. Their in house shipping is wonderful and reasonable. Five Stars for Morphy's!!!

excellent auction house. They post many pictures of each item. Shipping has always been reasonable. We have purchased from several auction houses and this is our favorite.

I have no idea where my item is, and was given two shipping quotes one for $78.00 and the second was told it would not be over $143.00, quite a large range between quotes, nine more days and it will be a month since the end of the auction, and no invoice on the shipping. I have bought through ebay for 28 years and have never had to wait so long for the process of shipping or receiving a shipping invoice. I wanted to try liveauctioneers but I probably will not do this again, it is a nerve wracking experience with no updates on the status, of my item, and feel like I have been left out in the cold and forgotten. For paying a 22 % buyers premium I thought it would be a more pleasant experience, I must admit it has not.

Provide as many inexpensive shipping methods as possible. It is UNBELIEVABLE what the UPS stores charge people living a great distance away to ship items. 3-4 times the normal cost....... and as a result, it prohibits me many times from bidding once I factor in cost of auction item (s), fees, then shipping. In-house shipping is always the cheapest. THANKS!!!

I won several items but one of them got lost. Auction house never contact me about this but the item popped up next auction. Last auction they refused to deliver me a won item, just telling me it was a clerk mistake. Both items I won far under the estimated price, one for 13.000 the other for 19.000 USD. This all smells like fraud

First, which we forgave, and ignored, awhile ago, an item we received was chipped when they said was mint. An auction they had in mid May, we had an item pulled away from us, of course the only piece we got a good buy on, and... we are still awaiting shipment which they control on the pieces they decided to let us buy.. As always we paid the very next day, hoping to get our items fast. Our items have not even been picked up yet, or maybe they are lost. We already have all our items from other live auctioneers from sales a weemayor more later. Frustrated with this company, to say the least. Always had been impressed with their sales, however possibly they are getting too big for their britches. Really lacking customer support. Richard and Barbara

I loved the fact that they took care of the shipping like a lot of auction houses use todo. I do NOT have they time to call make arrangements etc. Best experience with auction houses in some time. I rate them at the top of the list.

It takes quite longer time to ship the item.

CALLED TO PAY OVER THE PHONE. THEY SAID SINCE I WANTED MY ITEM SHIPPED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS, I MAY NOT USE A 'CC'. RIDICULOUS! HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES OVER! ALSO THEY TOOK THEIR TIME SHIPPING MY ITEM AND IT WAS NOT PACKED SECURELY TO ENSURE MY EARRINGS DO NOT BANG AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN TRANSIT! THEY HAD TURQUOISE STONES ALL THROUGHOUT.

I emailed with questions about condition etc and never received a response.

Some confusion as to carrier and place of delivery... but the item arrived safe and sound. Overall quite pleased with the experience.

I purchased 1 item from the auction house. I was out of town and overlooked the invoice in my email. They filed a dispute with Live Auctioneers in 1 week for not paying, even though I have a great track record with the site. This caused me to be declined for an auction I was looking forward to participating in. There are so many sites to choose from, why would I continue to do business with LA and Morphy when they are so quick to ruin an account? I'll go to bidsquare, proxibid, or the others I buy from.

I miscalculated the amount of the 2 % discount for cash and they let me slide on the mistake in my favor. Who does that anymore?

Required several phone calls to get my purchase. Did not respond to my emails.

Called the auction house and paid immediately for my guns and a set of knifes. Followed up immediately with an FFL for the guns. Have continuously called on a daily basis for the last 3 weeks to get the items shipped. As of now, none of the items have been received. Extremely poor follow up and friendly, but don't give a rip service.

This auction house is very helpful and professional. They have a great office staff that follows up, answers calls and makes shipping arrangements etc. Top notch!
