I've been buying at Cornell Galleries for, at least, the past 20 years and I've found the auction house to provide interesting objet d'art at very reasonable auction prices. If you want to deal with an auction house which is based on knowledge of the items that are auctioned, honesty and experience in providing a pleasant over all transaction, Cornell's galleries should be in your short list of auction houses to visit and buy from. The representatives at Cornell were very helpful, cooperative and responsive. They provided a list of shippers whom they recommended, which was helpful. (If you need a shipper, I recommend Island Packaging, which was on their list. Island provided easily the best rates for expertly packing and shipping the painting to me. The difference in quotes from the other shippers was startling and I highly recommend that you shop the shippers; Island was hands down the most economical, responsive and helpful.) In all, I am quite pleased with the item I won and the services provided by Cornell and Island Packaging. Cornell was quick to respond to my questions about the item and I am very pleased with the item and transaction.
