These books were crumbling mess. Even touching the books, hands would be covered with particulate of rotting leather. Auction house refused to resolve the issue.

The chair is in terrible condition and they have refused to reply to my emails or tel call.

They responded immediately, and put me in touch with an very reasonable shipping option. The item I purchased arrived, and exceeded my expectations. The whole experience of bidding and winning an auction through Litchfield Auctions was seamless from registration to delivery. I saw an item I was interested in and registered for the auction. After approval I contacted the auction house inquiring about their shipping policy. They got back to me very quickly and instructed me on what to do, who to contact, and provided accurate means of contact. The description of the item was on point enabling me to accurately describe the item to the shipper in order to receive an estimate quote from the shipper. So good, that the price quoted was actually able to be brought down a little from the actual quote. The shipping company was very, very good as well. The communication was excellent, and the packaging was above and beyond. All pieces arrived in perfect condition. I really love the item that I won, believe I got an excellent deal and will definitely be checking back in often with Litchfield Auctions to see what other super nice items they have. I want to thank them for a pleasant and speedy experience. Very, very happy!!!

I've been bidding with Litchfield for 8 years. I believe I've purchased from them over 30 times and spent over $100, 000. I purchased a lot of 27 glasses in "excellent condition". There were about a dozen with either tiny nicks or notable shelf wear (scratches) to the undersides or around the outsides. They are claiming this happened during shipping and are 100 % certain that it was not missed by them. The packing was really well done, full of bubble and double boxed with peanuts. The nature of the wear was consistent with used glasses that we see regularly. It is very easy and understandable for someone to miss this kind of damage even if they look closely at it, even if more than one person looks at it. Yet they are 10000000 % certain they could not have possibly missed it. That type of arrogance, certainty and lack of consideration towards a long time bidder is really disheartening. I've bought from them a handful of times in which I brought condition issues that they missed to their attention. I didn't 'ask for refunds or returns. They apologized and said they would be more careful. If they make a mistake, don't expect them to make it up in any way. This is a dangerous precedence as an online bidder and after seeing how many times they missed condition issues of items I purchased in the past and how they did not make any efforts to resolve the current issue I decided to not bid on 7 items so far in their current auction that is live as I type. I routinely bid on and win those lots. Buyer be ware.

Litchfield released our item to a shipper that we did not authorize. When this shipper surprised us with the chairs, we had no choice but to pay him. When I shared this concern with Litchfield, I received radio silence.

I used Packaging Depot for my 3000 dollar sculpture that I bought from Litchfield and paid a hefty sum for shipping and it was terribly packaged. The sculpture wasn't wrapped at all, no bubble wrap placed inside the box, and since there was plenty of room for the sculpture to move around there is fresh damage. Just disappointed that this could have never happened if the shipper would have made a little bit more effort protecting the piece. Use a different shipper!!!

Seller was great, fast communication and very understanding. I would definitely buy from them again!
