Helpful Auctions with interesting items
Dealing with any auction house from the other side of the world can be tricky and a certain amount of trust needs to be placed in the descriptions and photographs of items. Dealing with John Nicholson was a breeze and the picture frame I bought was as described and photographed honestly. They answered my emails promptly and dealt with my consigner without drama. If there was a paypal option for international buyers that would be the icing on the cake. I would certainly deal with them again.

The service is terrible
I) I kept contacting them for 2 weeks for the payment method, and didn't get response. 2) I haven't received the lots after I paid the lot for 14 days. And they even asked me who you contact to ship the lot!

Easiest International purchase of art I've had
Very thoughtful and informative. Also helpful re: aspects of the lot in question and the also important procedure to pack and ship your winning lot for safe arrival. All staff were helpful. I will definitely be participating in a John Nicholson Auctioneers auction again.

Payment with British auction companies
very important American bidders understand how they are going to pay for an item purchased through a British auction house. Most do no accept credit card payments nor do they use an on line payment system like PayPal. It costs too much money to "wire" funds which in the long run may make your purchase uneconomical.

the best word to use is unresponsive. why put the words silver box on the declaration? were they TRYING to get it item stolen? the word box would have sufficed.

Would prefer that they accept credit cards. Currently, they only accept cash, money transfers

We had a situation of mutual misunderstanting dealing, or rather mistruting: paying for a item won, by bank, I made wrong number of Swift. account. adress: but the summ, already paid from the account I used, was not received nor being devolved. I paid again via Credit card. the problem was solved but the item not sent yet.
