The information given was incomplete
The lamp was sold as a "kerosene oil lamp". It was however not mentioned anywhere that it has been electrified. The picture also did not show the cord. Further, the head of the lamp was probably glued to the body and after receiving it, I found it to be loose. All this should have been clearly mentioned in the description.

Dear Fayyaz Ahmad/Shahzad, I am sorry the lamp was not what you expected. It is in fact an antique kerosene oil lamp. While it is true that it was electrified was not disclosed was an error on our part. It is widely known that antique kerosene lamps almost always have been electrified so they can be used today, and I am afraid we took that fact for granted. There was certainly no intention to deceive. The socket is pictured and the wiring is shown inside the clear glass body as well. The cord was not pictured purely for aesthetic reasons. Cords just don't photograph well. We should have said however that the lamp was electrified. Regarding the top/shade. In the time we owned the lamp the shade was never glued to its frame and thankfully so, as it would have been a nightmare to ship. It came off easily and in our opinion, typically. I hope this explains the situation from our standpoint. We have been in the antiques and auction business for many many years and although occasional mistakes are made, it's our vow to describe as accurately as possible, after all, we want you to be be a repeat customer.
