Enjoyable auction experience with SJ Auctioneers. My items are just as they were described, and the photos were accurate representations-and both wind up tin toys work very well! In-house shipping is always a plus for me. The items were well packed and shipping costs were reasonable and the items arrived quickly. I'm looking forward to the next auction.

I hope it was just incompetence and not dishonesty but a second half 20th century Israeli object was described as 19th century German empire. The photos did not show significant defects and the condition was described as excellent. The packaging (which the seller insists of doing in-house) was a disaster-the selected box was just a bit too short so they just bent the object to fit it in.

The auction house reached out and asked me to write a review of my experience. That was my only personal contact with SJ Auctioneers. So: I was charged via autopay within 90 minutes of winning the item. I discovered, upon receipt, that the auction photos didn't show all the damage to the item, so extra buyer beware on future purchases. They do their own shipping, which sounded so convenient, but was not in my case; my delicate item was placed in a box with crumbled paper, and arrived damaged. It's repairable, but I shouldn't have to do that. Lastly, the same item, in the same auction condition (these are usually incredibly hard to find, but apparently there's a run on them now!) is available now from another auction house, with a $60 lower starting bid, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the whole experience. I'd have to see something remarkable to do business here again.
