Featuring an particularly interesting sale with items removed from an Armonk residence, descendants of primary staff members of the household Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, partial estates from Scarsdale, Garrison and a UES estate which was featured in last months sale. Select items from Hapsburg include bronze mounted inlaid chairs and table with photo documentation, secretaire a abbatant and 2 part cabinet, silver items, a Zsolnay Pecs leather framed plaque of Christ, and six Herend china plates and bowls showing the imperial crest among other items.
Also in this sale a large marble clock with silk thread movement mounted with a bronze huntsman and prey, a C. Kauba , two fine and early specimen marble tables, two 18th century large Chinese watercolors on paper mounted on canvas as well as other Chinese items bought in France in the early 1970's. Lots of sterling including a 110 ounce Gorham flatware service as well as other flatware and hollowware. From a Garrison estate of a local artist comes a small collection of Native American artifacts, a selection of rustic rockers and an excellent hand built early French sailing canoe in remarkable condition. Mid century items include Woodard, Eames, lots of Danish including two Wegner "Chair", several leather Chesterfields, and more. Lalique, Lenox, large lots of B&G figures and Doulton. Other items of interest to be offered include a pair of Chippendale andirons by Thomas Wright exhibited at the Philadelphia Centennial, a Williams 5 cent arcade game Crane, illustrations by Daryll Greene, and 2000 vinyl records from a Wilkes Barre estate to be sold as one lot.
