Estate of Sam Seiffer, Ephemera Treasures

Hudson Valley Auctioneers will present the unreserved estate of noted ephemera dealer Samuel Seiffer. Included is a large collection of his personal photographs of NYC scenes of the time as well as his photographic equipment, He was a poet and writer and offered will be an extensive typed interview of Roy Lichtenstein accompanied by original images. Also from that period in his life a collection of social poetry, a large lot of anti establishment pamphlets, newspapers and posters. Additionally expect a large lot of material relating to the history and scandals of the Tammany Society in NY, several Edison cylinder players and records, opera including Caruso, Gene Autry, old telephones, 19th century "ring" vases, Sandwich glass lighting , stage and screen including opera items, autographs, period posters, photographs a large collection sheet music including 19th century and scripts, a large collection of Currier and Ives prints, copper and steel engravings with an emphasis on presidents especially George Washington. A large collection of actual copper and steel engraved plates from small to large will be sold singly and in groups. His interest in 19th century life politics extended to a large lot of CDV's and other photographs, glass plate negatives, early Art Union medals and pamphlets, a large collection of stereo cards to be sold in one lot, fraternal shaving mugs and ephemera and of course many lots of books; histories, travel, opinion and illustrated.
