SCOTTS VALLEY, CALIF. - On Sunday, June 23rd, Robert Slawinski Auctioneers will host California Estates Auction, offering nearly 400 lots. This auction will feature an eclectic array of fine antiques, art, and jewelry, as well as a large selection of vintage sports memorabilia pieces and Native American jewelry. The auction will begin at 11 am (PST) at 1500 Green Hills Road, Suite 100. Within the sports memorabilia pieces are two large group lots. One primarily made up of boxing photos; including highlight images of ?Blackjack? Billy Fox, Gustav ?Gus? Lesnevich, Petey Scalzo, James ?Jimmy? Carter, Ted ?Kid? Lewis, ?Bold? Mike McTigue, and many more. The second lot includes images and memorabilia of baseball, golf, football, skiing, shooting, track, and various other sports. This lot has images of Chico Fernandez, Carl Warwick, Reggie White, and Clyde King, to name a few. With more than one hundred paintings, this auction will feature signed lithographs by Salvador Dali, who was born in May 1904 and died in 1989. Other featured artists include, Jules Dupre (1811-1889), Frank Gavencky (1888-1966), and James Whistlery (1834-1903). More contemporary selections include pieces by Peter MckIntryre (1910-1995), Ferdinand Bergdorf (1881-1975), Charles Willis (1878- 1963), Marshall Merritt (1904-1978), Tom E. Lewis (1909-1979) and more. This auction will also include an original Bronze Rhino by Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015) that is 9 inches in height, numbered 111 out of 250. A watercolor of a woman bearing the signature of Zhang Daqian highlights the selection of Chinese antiques, which also includes fine jade pendants and carvings, beautifully carved furniture, various antique pottery, and intricate woolen carpets. Featured among the carved furniture is a 19th century rosewood armchair that includes bat and flower motifs. Also among the Chinese antiques is a pair of Republic Period enameled vases with imagery of landscape with figures.
