This varied sale is the perfect opportunity for trade and private buyers to browse through lots which may other wise pass them by. Highlights among the books include fabulous limited edition Art Reference books from Joan Mira Quelques fleurs pour des amis estimated at £6000-8000 and Pablo Picasso's Le Carmen des Carmen from 1964 in at £5000-7000 to Jaime Sabart's Dans l'Atelier de Picasso at £2500-3500. An extremely rare copy of Views in Scotland by I Clark from 1824 has never before appeared at auction. The hand-coloured aquatints include stunning town views of Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling, Aberdeen and Glasgow and the lot is expected to reach £6000-8000. Also with the books is a copy of David Roberts The Holy Land from 1844 at £2500-3500.
A large portion of the sale is given over to an amazing collection of original dress designs by Victor Stiebel, all dating from the beginning of the 20th Century. Stiebel was extremely popular with society figures and perhaps the most interesting are the designs for the late Princess Margaret - one lot is the large ink design of her "going away" outfit following her marriage to Lord Snowdon estimated at £500-750.
A section of Photographs includes work by Felice Beato. One of the first European photographers in Japan, the two lots are split into a group of figure studies and a group of landscapes, both from 1864, each is expected to make £2000-3000.
The drawings and watercolours cover a host of artists, subjects and dates. It ranges from the charming Printing Press by Russian impressionist artist N. Frolova estimated at £400-600 through to Patricia Davenport's Aphrodite estimated at £3000-4000.
