IRISH, ART, HISTORY & LITERATURE

Whyte's are delighted to present an exciting collection of Irish and British Art for auction on 25 February next, as well as historical and literary manuscripts, ephemera and memorabilia. The collection of over 180 lots includes artists such as Arthur Armstrong, Basil Blackshaw, Francis Bacon, Trevor Bell, Peter Curling, George Campbell, Gerard Dillon, William Percy French, Kenneth Hall, Harry Kernoff, Louis le Brocquy, William John Leech, Richard Thomas Moynan, Daniel O'Neill, Basil Rakoczi, William Scott, Neil Shawcross, Sean Scully, Patrick Swift and Jack B Yeats. Also included in this important sale is a rare series of works by Letitia Marion Hamilton which come directly from the artist's family collection. The Historical & Literature section, on 29 March, will feature letters, documents, medals and militaria,ephemera and memorabilia connected to the turbulent history of Ireland as well as rare first editions of famous Irish authors such as Wilde, Joyce and Beckett, as well as autograph letters from famous Irish writers
