December Americana and Fine Arts Day One

Merrill's Auctions has been commissioned to sell an important Winslow Homer (1836- 1910) oil on board ?Woodcutters- Maine? signed and dated 1888, descending in the family of Harry Evert Waldron (1883-1975), who purchased the painting in the 1920's. He was an executive of the Scheaffer Pen Company and husband of the company's founder. Also included in this sale are important antiques & art descending in a turn-of-the-century 5th Avenue, New York City Doctor's family, a neat group of Folk Art descending in an early New York City family, a significant jewelry collection, as well as antique furniture, artwork, silver, glass, china, Oriental rugs & carpets, & collectible antiques from other area homes.
