Treadway is pleased to announce their fall auction to be held Sunday, October 25th at 11am EST. This Decorative Arts auction offers a wide variety of American and European objects from numerous collections, with most lots from the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau era. Arts and crafts lighting features an impressive Dirk van Erp lamp along with numerous Handel lamps. Arts and Crafts objects include several enameled pieces of American and English origin. A collection of ceramics including George Ohr, Rookwood, Marblehead, S E G, Newcomb is combined with modern examples by Natzler, Cabat, Gambone, Doyle Lane, Marija Grotell and various pieces of Scandinavian pottery. Modern furnishings include a cabinet by George Nakashima, examples by Val Bertoia and a dining set exhibited at the Chicago world fair. Some 80 Tiffany objects will be offered, including lamps, shades, candlesticks and glassware coming from 3 collections in North Carolina, Kentucky and Cincinnati. One of the more impressive Tiffany lamps is an Oriental Poppy on a blown out base. European glass and ceramics including Galle, Loetz and Daum. A large Daum lamp will be sold along with a considerable collection of silver overlay glass. This sale also includes paintings by Cuban artists such as Lolo Soldevilla, Jose Maria Mijares and Sandu Darie. Several works by American artists will be offered including work by Cincinnati painters Elizabeth Nourse, John Hauser and E T Hurley. Paul Sample and Robert Watson oils round out the painting offerings. Asian items, KPM plaques, French enamels and several pieces of silver will be sold as well.
