The ongoing liquidation of a book dealer’s private collection continues with treasures unearthed from forgotten corners of his library. Four scarce and original Arts & Crafts period furniture catalogs head up this trove of offerings, which features items never before offered. Numerous early and collectible small books lead the way along with a lovely first edition of Field’s “The Art of Walt Disney.” A scarce 1899 bound copy of The Graphic (a book the size of an atlas) is included in this sale. A first edition of “AA Comes of Age” in the elusive dust wrapper, a very collectible 5-volume, full leather edition of “Les Misérables” and “Mariner’s Chronicle,” the book that is regarded as the source material for “Moby Dick” makes this a sale worth looking into. Finally, included is an 1854 U. S. Gazetteer containing a large and original foldout map of the United States. It is an important map in the development of America, and it is in completely intact condition.
