Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

We are pleased to offer the first half of the late Doug Underwood Collection. Many of you will recognize Doug from artifact shows and gatherings. He attended shows with this wife Vivian all over the Midwest. Doug began collecting in 1981 and put together a very fine collection. His artifact log reads like a Who's Who of good old collections and collectors. While a nicely varied assemblage, you can tell Doug?s passion was for large Early Archaic Points. This sale contains a superb group of Dovetails, Hardins, Lost Lakes and a few Kentucky Paleo Points as well. Doug acquired the McCoy's six inch plus Cheatham County Clovis a few years ago. It is a tremendous, imposing Clovis. Vivian is pleased that Doug's artifacts are being offered back to the artifact collecting community. You're likely to recognize some of Doug's relics. Many were pictured over the years. Don't miss this opportunity to add a fine relic (or several) to your collection. This sale also contains a nice group of flint artifacts once collected by Kenny McNeal. Kenny was known for his taste in both slate and flint artifacts. Kenny, along with a portion of his collection, can be seen in Who's Who in Indian Relics #1. We have rounded out this auction with a nice consignment of Bannerstones and Axes from the Gary Cuckler Collection AND some very fine Pottery. Included in the selection of Pottery is a Swirl Jar pictured by LaDassor in St. Louis Prehistoric Art as well as a very rare Quapaw (Tunican) Diamond Cluster Jar. Two very fine Birdstones will highlight this auction. Dave Harvey's Popeyed Iowa masterpiece will be sold, along with Baldwin's Porphyry Fantail Birdstone. What a sale this turned out to be!
