Mostly Modern: with Post-War & Contemporary

Capsule Auctions presents Mostly Modern: an auction of Modern, Post War, and Contemporary Art. Highlights include a work on canvas by modern visionary, artist, and philosopher Irene Rice Pereira. This fresh-to-market painting from 1944 is among the highlights of featured works from the estate of Jerome Lurie, labor attorney and law partner of Sidney E. Cohn. From the same estate, we are also offering a collection of 10 works by Roman Vishniac, a pioneer in art, and biology, who brought a modern realization to photography, best known for this series of images which capture central and eastern European Jewish culture before the Holocaust. We also have additional selections from other great New York estates and collections including a bronze and glass "Panther" table by Judy Kensley McKie, from a Park Avenue collection, and a Robert Natkin "Red Bern Series" acrylic on canvas from a Woodmere, New York estate.
