Edged Weapons & Armor Auction

Lewis & Grant is pleased to present its September 8th Arms and Armor Sale, featuring a grand array of historic and collectible edged weapons and accessories from across the globe. Collectors of military, civil, and ethnographic arms will all find something to add to their collections in this specially curated event. Collectors and scholars of Germanic and Northern European arms will be especially interested in the nearly fifty examples of hunting swords, from the functional to the elaborate (Lots 20-72). For those who prefer ancient history, a fine selection of bronze and iron age artifacts including spear points, arrowheads, and axe blades will be crossing the auction block, acquired from a Midwestern collection (Lots 1-19). Items that will appeal to the ethnographic arms collector include a rare Kalasag war shield (Lot 174), a good selection of Igorot spears and axes (Lots 168-172), as well as a Datu keris belonging to the infamous Filipino outlaw ?Talibon? (Lot 166). Lewis & Grant is also pleased to offer a selection of modern and contemporary arms and armor with the reenactor and living historian in mind. These include two sets of hand-made armor by the well-known Jeffrey Hedgecock (Lots 178, 179), as well as several pieces by classic museum-grade arms producer Del Tin (Lots 208-222). Based on original pieces handled by Fulvio Del Tin himself, these reproduction arms are still prized among the living history and medieval martial arts community for their detail, accuracy, and excellent handling. Other lots of interest include two agate-hilted hunting swords (Lots 30, 33), a rare 16th Century Italian roncone (lot 76), and a fine silver-mounted yataghan by C. Labruna (Lot 147). Don?t miss this opportunity to participate in this highly-anticipated auction. To register to bid, please contact info@lewisandgrant.com.
